Add Re-Read Dates to Your Books on BookLikes

Reblogged from BookLikes:

It’s time to re-read some books! Now you can add as many read dates to your books as your wish. What’s more, your BookLikes Reading Challenge will include the re-read titles, and your reading history will be presented on a book page and on your shelf.

Read dates can be added in +Shelf advanced and in your shelf table view.

To add more dates, click add a new date, insert the started and finished reading dates and Save.

The book on your Shelf will receive a re-read icon. Once you press it, you’ll see all your dates, you can easily update them and add new ones.

You can view your reading history in the Shelf table view and on the book page. The books with multiple read dates will be also counted to your BookLikes Reading Challenge.

P.S. The following card seems to be perfect for today's release :) Let's do it!

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't GR do this?  They have been around forever, and still don't have re-read dates.  Bl is now my favorite book site.

Pages for Progress is asking people to post the pages they read between now and September 8, to help promote literacy.  They have raised $20,015 so far.  The new page goal is 2,000,015.

Lydia Bennet's Story: A Sequel to Pride and Prejudice - Jane Odiwe

Someone on here mentioned Freading a while back.  I had never heard of it, so I checked to see if my library used it.  They do, so I just checked this out.  I've heard about this book, but wasn't sure whether to read it or not, since I'm not sure how I'd like a book based on Lydia Bennett.  But then I saw it on Freading, and thought I'd give it a chance.  I have two weeks to read it, so I'll  try to get to it soon.

First Kisses

First Kisses: an Inspy Kisses collection of inspirational romances - Linda Goodnight, Janet Tronstad, Debra Clopton, Margaret Daley

July 2, 2014-I just finished the first story, The Rambler's Bride by Linda Goodnight.  I loved it. Jericho's brother died a couple months ago, and left him his property in Kansas.  Jericho comes to claim the land, but instead falls in love with his brother's widow, Esther.  This was such a sweet story, and I can't wait to read the others.

July 8, 2014- I just read the second story, Lovebirds at the Heartbreak Cafe by Janet Tronstad, and loved it.  Penny Rose has been widowed for two months.  She married her deceased sister's husband, because he had lung cancer, and their six kids would be orphans once he died.  She goes to the cafe looking for work as a waitress, and meets Buddy Hamilton, who is a truck driver.  He soon falls in love with Penny and the kids.

I received a copy of this book from the authors in exchange for a review.  All opinions are my own.

Reading progress update: I've read 188 out of 498 pages.

Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies - Jared Diamond

I'm surprised at how much I am enjoying this.  I was afraid it would be boring, but it is really very interesting.

The Next Always (Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy #1) -

I read this last year, but never could find the other two books in the trilogy.  Then, last week I found the third book at the thrift store for a quarter, so I grabbed it, thinking I'd put it aside until I got the second book.  Then, yesterday I found the first two books there and bought both of them, so I'd have the whole set.  I thought I go and and read the whole series in order this time.

Bout of Books Update

Deadly Safari (Love Inspired Suspense) - Lisa Harris The Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger Evelina - Fanny Burney Where Azaleas Bloom - Sherryl Woods Touching Stars - Emilie Richards

I'm not doing as well as I hoped, but I have read four books, so far.  My original goal was fifteen, and I'm not going to read all the books I had listed before.  I don't know why, but whenever I choose a set of books to read next, I seem to lose interest in reading them.   Five of the books on my list are Kindle books, and I can't get into them at all.  I think I'll save them for a later time.  I will still try to read as many of the paperbacks as I can before Sunday night.  I'm off tomorrow, so hopefully I can read a lot then.

Here's the books I've read so far:

Deadly Safari

The Catcher in the Rye

Evelina

Where Azaleas Bloom

I am currently reading Touching Stars, and I hope to finish it tonight.

Deadly Safari (Love Inspired Suspense) - Lisa Harris

I won this book in a contest, and I'm really glad I did. I had never heard of Lisa Harris before this, but I will be on the lookout for more of her books.

Summer Reading Challenge

I always loved the summer reading program at the library. This is a great challenge for me because I haven't been reading as much lately. This challenge began at the beginning of May, and ends at the beginning of September. Your goal has to be at least five books, but the rest is up to how much you want to read.

My goal will be 100 books.

Here's where I got the challenge: http://katiesbookblog.com/2014/04/2014-book-blogger-summer-reading-program.html

Bout of Books

Bout of Books Readathon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

I'm planning to do this. I've never participated in a read-a-thon, but my reading has been in a slump lately, so I'm hoping this will help. I normally read at least 2 books a day, but have only read three this month. I will try for fifteen books, but will be happy with anything over five.

I posted this on my blog yesterday as well.

Sprinkle with Murder - Jenn McKinlay

On one page, it says she was chubby as a child, because of her sweet tooth.  A page later, it says she was "tall and lanky" growing up.
